Privacy Policy
Tracelet is made by Continuum Company ("Continuum", "we", "us"), a company based in Saudi Arabia. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Tracelet on iPhone and Apple Watch.
The short version
- Tracelet processes your journal and health information on your devices. We do not operate servers that receive this app data, and the app has no user accounts.
- Apple Health access is optional and controlled by the permissions you grant. Tracelet calculates insights on your device.
- The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs. Its third-party database library runs locally.
- Data can move between your paired iPhone and Apple Watch, be included in Apple-managed device backups, or leave through files and support messages you choose to share.
- Tracelet has no developer-operated cloud backup or iCloud synchronization service. Apple-managed backups and the destinations you choose for exported files are separate.
- Tracelet Premium is sold through the App Store. Apple processes payment; we do not receive your payment details. The app checks your Premium status on your device and does not send it to a developer server.
Apple may separately provide beta-testing information, crash reports and feedback as described below.
What Tracelet stores on your device
Tracelet is a health journal and analytics app. Everything you log is written to a database inside the app's private storage on your iPhone:
- Your entries: supplements, medications, food, drinks, exercise and movement, mood, energy, stress, symptoms, pain, skin, digestion, fasting, sleep and naps, breathwork, sauna, screen time, weight, blood pressure, body temperature, blood glucose, menstrual cycle, notes, day evaluations, feelings, and any custom items you create.
- Your settings: which cards you show, reminder schedules, routines, goals, theme, language, and similar preferences.
- Derived results: recovery scores, trends, correlations, streaks, and weekly digests that Tracelet computes from your entries and your Health data. These are computed on the device and stored on the device. They are never included in any export; after a restore, Tracelet recalculates them, so a past day's score can differ if the Health data on the restored phone differs.
- Local diagnostics: technical event records, timestamps, counts, device and app state, and health measurements such as heart rate, heart-rate variability, oxygen saturation, temperature and sleep duration. Health-event dates in log messages are generally expressed as day offsets, but the logs also contain absolute technical timestamps. The app's diagnostics logger does not record your free-text notes, custom item names or calculated score values. An optional verbose setting adds more technical detail. Logs rotate to limit storage. During log maintenance, log files that have not been modified for more than seven days are removed; this is not a promise that every individual record is deleted after seven days.
The iPhone app and its widgets use an on-device shared storage area. The Watch app keeps separate local copies of the data it needs and exchanges data with the paired iPhone through Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. We do not receive these transfers.
Apple Health
With your permission, Tracelet reads these Apple Health categories to show biometrics, sleep, and activity next to your logs:
heart rate, heart rate variability, resting heart rate, walking heart rate, VO₂ max, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, body temperature and sleeping wrist temperature, steps, active energy, exercise minutes, walking speed and asymmetry, time in daylight, body mass and body fat, blood glucose, blood pressure, water and caffeine intake, sleep analysis, stand hours, mindful sessions, menstrual flow, workouts, heartbeat series, physical effort, alcoholic beverages, sleep breathing disturbances, State of Mind (mood and emotion entries), and, only after a separate request, dietary sugar, protein, carbohydrates, and energy consumed. Tracelet also reads date of birth and biological sex from Health characteristics to calibrate ranges.
Separately requested permissions can include medication dose events, workout effort and estimated workout effort scores, hypertension notifications and sleep-apnea notifications, where supported by your device and OS. Tracelet uses these records to show relevant health context; it does not itself detect or diagnose those conditions.
With your permission, Tracelet can write the entries you choose to share back to Apple Health: body mass, body fat percentage, body temperature, systolic and diastolic blood pressure, blood glucose, water, caffeine, workouts, mindful minutes, menstrual flow and State of Mind. Availability depends on the entry, device and OS. You control the categories you permit and can revoke access in Apple's Health or privacy settings at any time.
Tracelet asks iOS to wake it briefly in the background when new Health data arrives, so your scores are current when you open the app. Those background reads stay on the device like every other read.
Health data you permit Tracelet to read stays in Tracelet's local database on your device. We do not automatically receive your Apple Health data. We may receive health information in a support file you explicitly choose to send, as described below. We do not use health data for advertising or marketing.
Other device features
- Notifications. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. We run no push server. Quick actions on a notification write to the same local database.
- Siri and Shortcuts. If you use Tracelet's intents (for example a sleep summary or logging a mood), the request is fulfilled on your device from the local database. Apple processes your voice under Apple's terms.
- Focus status. If you allow it, Tracelet checks whether a Focus mode is on so it can pause "wander" pings while you are focusing. Tracelet does not learn which Focus or anything else about it.
- Apple Watch. The Watch app receives the entries and scores it needs over Apple's device-to-device connection between your iPhone and your Watch. Nothing goes through us.
What leaves your device, and only when you send it or turn it on
- A copy of your data, for restoring. Settings lets you export a file holding every entry you logged, the Apple Health readings Tracelet keeps for its charts, and your settings, including your profile, notes, and custom item names, all in readable form. It does not include the scores and results Tracelet computes; those are recalculated when you restore. You choose where the file goes (Files, AirDrop, a cloud folder of your own). Treat it as you would any private document.
- Daily records (CSV). Settings lets you export a spreadsheet with one row per day: your ratings, symptoms, supplements, medications, food, drinks, custom items, notes, and the workouts Apple Health recorded (type, duration, calories, distance, peak heart rate). It is not redacted. It contains no Tracelet scores or calculations.
- Diagnostics file. You can export a diagnostics file from Settings and decide whether and where to share it. It contains app and system versions, device and Watch context, language and region, recent system-log entries, the local diagnostics log described above, settings and category preferences, configuration counts, pseudonymous identifiers, and technical information about recovery processing and its state. Technical timestamps and health measurements can be present; calculated score values and computed insight results are excluded. With Include database copy, it also contains a copy of the last 30 days of entries and Health readings. By default that database copy removes notes, custom text and profile information, but numeric health data and dates remain. Keep notes & custom text turns off that redaction. Redaction does not make the file anonymous. Review the options before exporting and share only what is needed.
Tracelet does not automatically upload these files to us. If you open a website, send email, share a file or use an Apple service, that service or destination handles the connection and the information you provide under its own privacy practices.
Apple device backups
Tracelet app data is eligible for inclusion in Apple-managed device backups, including iCloud Backup or a computer backup, by default. Whether a backup exists and includes that data depends on your device backup settings and Tracelet's backup-inclusion setting. Those backups are made and held by you and Apple under your Apple settings; we cannot access or delete them for you. Tracelet does not implement its own iCloud synchronization or cloud database. If you would rather keep Tracelet out of your device backups, turn off Include Tracelet data in device backups in Settings; a lost phone then loses your Tracelet data unless you exported a copy. Tracelet has no server recovery copy of your data. Keep your own backup if you need to restore it later.
Contacting support
If you contact support@continuum.sa, Continuum Company receives your sender details, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond to your request, investigate the issue, maintain app reliability and security, and meet applicable legal obligations.
Start with a description of the problem, the app version and your iOS or watchOS version. Do not send a full backup, medical records, credentials or other sensitive information unless it is needed for your request. Contact us before sending a diagnostics file containing health information. Sending an attachment does not waive your privacy rights or authorize unrelated uses. Where applicable law requires consent to process health or other sensitive information, explicit consent is required. You can withdraw consent by contacting us; withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out lawfully.
Email is processed by the service providers involved in delivering and storing the correspondence. These providers may change over time, and correspondence may be processed outside your country. We do not sell support information, use it for advertising, or combine it with an advertising profile. Applicable data-protection requirements continue to apply to support information, including sensitive information and international transfers.
We retain support messages and attachments for as long as needed to respond to your request, investigate and address related issues, maintain app reliability and security, comply with legal obligations, or establish or defend legal claims. We delete them when those purposes no longer require them. You can contact the same support address to request access to or deletion of correspondence.
Tracelet Premium and payments
Tracelet Premium is sold through the App Store as monthly or annual auto-renewing subscriptions. Apple processes every payment under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive your payment details or your Apple Account credentials through the app.
Tracelet uses Apple's StoreKit on your device to show prices, start a purchase, restore purchases and check whether Premium is active. The app keeps a record of your Premium status on your iPhone, and shares it with your paired Apple Watch and the app's widgets, so Premium works offline. We do not operate a purchase server, and the app does not send your purchases or Premium status to us. Apple provides developers with sales and subscription reports; those reports do not contain your journal or health data.
Beta testing and Apple-provided reports
If you use Tracelet through TestFlight, Apple automatically collects and shares beta app usage information and crash reports with developers under its TestFlight terms. This can include app and device details and, depending on how you joined the beta, your name and email address. Feedback can also include information and screenshots you choose to submit. For App Store versions, Apple may provide crash and other diagnostic reports when you choose to share diagnostics with app developers in your Apple settings. These Apple-provided services are separate from Tracelet's on-device journal processing. Tracelet does not add a third-party analytics SDK.
Continuum uses information it receives through these routes to test, diagnose and improve Tracelet. Any reports we download are retained only for as long as needed for those purposes or applicable legal obligations, then deleted. Do not include private health details in beta feedback unless necessary and intentionally shared. Privacy requests can be sent to the contact address below.
Data we hold about you
We may hold support correspondence and attachments you send us, and beta feedback or reports provided through Apple as described above. We operate no app-data collection backend and have no app accounts. These support and Apple-provided reporting routes are separate from the journal and Health records processed on your devices.
Deleting your data
- Delete All Data in Settings erases the Tracelet database on your iPhone and its local shared storage used by widgets. It also requests deletion of the paired Watch copy; an offline Watch may retain data until it receives that reset. The operation rotates identifiers used for diagnostics, but it cannot erase or unlink files already sent to another recipient.
- Deleting the app removes its private storage from that device. A copy may remain in an Apple device backup according to your Apple backup settings.
- Delete All Data does not remove records from Apple Health. Deleting an individual entry also requests removal of its linked Apple Health records. You can manage or delete any remaining records directly in Apple Health.
- Files you exported are yours to delete where you put them.
Your rights
Because the data lives with you, you can read, correct, export, and delete it directly in the app at any time. Personal data we hold through support correspondence or Apple-provided reporting is handled as described above.
Depending on where you live and which law applies, including the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law and the EU General Data Protection Regulation, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or a portable copy of personal data we hold, and to object to certain processing. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. These rights can be subject to legal exceptions.
California residents may also have rights to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, to correct or delete it, and to receive equal service when exercising privacy rights. The only categories we may have collected are identifiers and contact information (your sender name and email address), customer-support content, and diagnostics, device context or beta feedback you send or Apple provides under the reporting routes described above. The sources are you and Apple as applicable. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
To exercise a right, email support@continuum.sa with "Privacy request" in the subject. We may verify the request by replying to the email address associated with the correspondence, and respond within the time required by applicable law, normally within 30 days. If a lawful extension is needed, we will tell you why. You may use an authorized agent where applicable law permits. If we deny a request, we will explain why and describe any available appeal or complaint route.
Children
Tracelet is not directed at children. A person who is under the age of majority where they live should use Tracelet only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Children should not send personal or health information through support. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child sent us information, contact us using the privacy-request process above.
Security
Your Tracelet data is protected by your device's encryption and passcode, and your device backups by Apple's backup protections. Files you export are not encrypted by Tracelet and are only as safe as where you send them. We recommend Face ID or a passcode on the device and care when sharing exports.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Tracelet handles data, we will update this policy, change the effective date and version above, update the App Store privacy label to match, and provide notice of material changes through the app or another appropriate channel. Where required, we will seek consent before a new use of personal data. The current version will always be available at tracelet.continuum.sa/privacy.
